Small 14" Elite Cascade Falls Box

Create a natural-looking waterfall with our Small 14" Elite Cascade Falls Box. Designed for pond-less waterfalls and cascading streams, this compact waterfall box uses a black Matala diffuser mat to distribute water evenly across a 14-inch spillway.

The integrated landscape lid helps conceal the box within surrounding rockwork and planting areas, while the detachable weir allows the waterfall liner to be secured to the front of the unit.

This product is the individual 14" Cascade Falls Box, not a complete pond-less waterfall system.

To build a complete waterfall, you will also need a properly sized pump, water reservoir, liner, underlayment, connecting plumbing, and materials for constructing the waterfall and stream.

If you're starting a new project and prefer a coordinated package, consider our Elite Small 14" Cascading Falls Kit , which includes the major components needed for a complete pond-less waterfall installation.

14" Cascade Falls Box: Waterfall housing with a 14-inch spillway opening.

Attached Landscape Lid: Helps conceal the box within the finished landscape.

Black Matala Diffuser Mat: Installed inside the box to distribute incoming water before it reaches the spillway.

Two Factory-Installed 2" Spinweld Fittings: Provide water-feed connection options.

Detachable Weir: Used to secure the waterfall liner to the front of the box.

Self-Tapping Stainless Steel Screws: Used for attaching the detachable weir.

Black Silicone: Used when sealing the liner connection.

Installation Instructions: Guidance for waterfall box installation and liner attachment.

Replacement diffuser: Our Replacement Matala for Elite Cascade Falls is available separately. Select the 14" option, item MT14BK.

Plumbing note: The connecting pipe and the adapters needed for your overall installation depend on the system layout. Verify the required connections before ordering.

Use these specifications when planning box placement, plumbing connections, and the required space behind your waterfall.

Important: The 2,500 GPH specification is the maximum flow rating for the waterfall box, not a universal pump recommendation. Actual water delivery depends on pump performance, elevation, plumbing length, and installation conditions.

The Cascade Falls Box is installed near the top of a waterfall or stream. In a pond-less system, water is pumped from an underground reservoir to the box, flows down the waterfall, and returns to the concealed basin.

Our official installation manual provides the complete procedure. The following stages highlight the important planning and installation requirements.

Choose the waterfall location, stream layout, and underground basin configuration. Account for the dimensions of the Cascade Box, pump access, water supply, and electrical access. The reservoir must be sized for the complete system.

Compact the supporting soil to help prevent settling. Keep the Cascade Box level from side to side, with a slight forward tilt of approximately one-quarter bubble on a level, as described in our installation guide.

The two factory-installed 2" spinweld connections provide installation flexibility. The water supply can enter from either side, with the unused connection plugged. A second feed line can also be used when the system is designed for it. Follow the manual for the required adapters and connection procedures.

Attach the waterfall liner to the front of the box using the specified silicone, detachable weir, and screws. Test the system for proper water flow and leaks before finishing the surrounding rockwork and landscaping.

Correct positioning helps prevent water from collecting unevenly inside the box. Our installation instructions specify a level side-to-side position with a slight forward tilt.

Keep the waterfall liner properly secured and ensure the surrounding stonework directs water back into the lined stream and reservoir.

Choosing the correct waterfall width and flow capacity is important when designing a stream. Our Cascade Falls Boxes are available in several sizes, and we also offer lower-profile spillways and smaller DIY waterfall boxes.

Use this comparison to identify the product that fits your waterfall design. Each model has different dimensions and plumbing requirements.

Maximum flow ratings describe the listed limits for the individual waterfall boxes or spillways. Actual operating flow depends on the complete system. The 28" Elite Spillway rating reflects its current individual product listing.

Keeping the diffuser mat clean and maintaining adequate reservoir water levels helps the waterfall operate as intended.

Remove leaves, sediment, and other debris that may interfere with water flow.

Inspect the Matala diffuser mat and clean accumulated debris as needed.

Our maintenance guide recommends removing and cleaning the waterfall box filter media at least annually.

When possible, rinse the diffuser using water from the existing system rather than chlorinated tap water.

Monitor reservoir water levels and check the pump and plumbing connections regularly.

Follow the appropriate winterization procedure for your pump and complete pond-less system.

If operating during freezing conditions, monitor for ice dams, restricted flow, and changes in reservoir water level.

During spring startup, remove winter debris and inspect the box, plumbing, liner, and diffuser.

Check that the Cascade Box remains level side to side and maintains its slight forward tilt.

Follow our seasonal maintenance guide before restarting the waterfall.

Use our official guides when planning and installing your pond-less waterfall. The Cascade Falls Box guide applies directly to this product. The additional guides cover related system components and ongoing maintenance.

No. PB1106 is the individual waterfall box. A pump, underground reservoir, liner, underlayment, and the other major components required for a complete pond-less waterfall must be purchased separately. If you need a coordinated system, we also offer a complete 14" Elite Cascading Falls Kit.

The 14" Cascade Falls Box has a maximum flow rating of 2,500 GPH. Pump selection should account for the desired waterfall appearance, vertical lift, plumbing length, and friction loss. The actual flow delivered to the waterfall box must remain within its rated capacity. Our Sales/Tech Team can help you evaluate your system.

Yes. The box has two factory-installed 2" spinweld connections. Our installation guide explains how to connect the water supply to either side and plug the unused connection. The second connection may also be used for an additional pump line when the system is designed accordingly.

Yes. Our Elite Cascade Falls Boxes can be installed side by side for wider waterfall designs. Each box must receive appropriate water flow, and the overall plumbing and reservoir system must be sized for the complete installation.

The attached landscape lid is designed to help conceal the box. Surrounding rockwork, gravel, mulch, or suitable plantings can be incorporated into the finished design. Maintain access where needed for inspection and diffuser maintenance.

Periodically inspect the diffuser for accumulated debris. Our maintenance guide recommends removing and cleaning the waterfall box filter media at least once per year. Replacement black Matala diffuser media is available for the 14" Cascade Falls Box under item MT14BK.

Our Blue Thumb engineered-plastic Cascade Falls Box is covered by a lifetime manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser. Proper installation is required, and modifications after purchase void the warranty. Labor and freight are not covered. Refer to our official warranty document for complete terms.
