2100gph IllumiFlow® Pump
Blue Thumb pond, waterfall and fountain pumps
IllumiFlow® pumps combine direct-drive flow capability with magnetic-drive efficiency for clear, filtered freshwater systems. Choose from 2,100 to 7,800 GPH for pond filtration, waterfalls, streams and water features, then match your model to the flow your project needs at its actual pumping height.
The hybrid direct-drive/magnetic-drive design delivers substantial circulation while keeping power requirements transparent: every model’s watts and amperage are listed below.
The low-profile housing can be positioned horizontally or vertically in a pond skimmer or directly in a pond, giving installers more flexibility in tight equipment areas.
Thermal overload protection automatically stops the motor if it overheats. A removable screened intake helps keep larger debris away from the impeller and simplifies routine inspection.
Do not select by maximum GPH alone. Pump output falls as water is lifted and moved through tubing, fittings and valves. Estimate the project’s total head, identify the flow needed at the waterfall, filter or fountain, and compare that requirement with the 5-foot and 10-foot performance values below and the flow curve in the product gallery.
The IllumiFlow 6000 has the highest shutoff head in this family at 28.5 feet; the higher-flow IllumiFlow 7800 has a 27.5-foot maximum head. If your layout is between published points or includes long plumbing runs, ask Blue Thumb to review the selection.

Review the BodyGuard pump pre-filter sock (rated for pumps 7 inches or smaller and flows up to 4,200 GPH; confirm fit)
Every model has a 25-foot cord and a 1-inch to 1.5-inch outlet fitting. *Wattage varies with head pressure. Maximum head is the shutoff point, not usable delivered flow.
Size the pump for required delivered flow after accounting for vertical lift and plumbing resistance. Confirm that the receiving basin, skimmer, filter and waterfall can handle that flow.
Install in a skimmer or directly in the pond, horizontally or vertically. Keep the intake away from gravel and heavy debris, and do not place the pump where it could drain the pond.
Match tubing and fittings to the selected outlet and required flow. A non-submersed installation is permitted only as a flooded-suction setup—not a suction-lift setup.
Use a dry, flood-protected GFCI outlet and verify that supply voltage and frequency match the pump nameplate. Never cut off the plug or direct-wire the cord.
The pump must remain submerged while operating unless correctly installed in flooded-suction mode. Inspect the screened intake regularly and disconnect power before cleaning or handling.
Cold-weather operation is possible only when the housing and plumbing cannot freeze. If ice could form around the pump, remove it, empty it and store it where it will not freeze.
IllumiFlow models are intended for clear, filtered freshwater up to 95°F. Do not pump salty water, sewage, flammable, corrosive or explosive liquids, grease, oil or foodstuffs. Never carry the pump by its cord, never run it dry, and unplug it before placing it in the water, removing it or performing service.
Review the owner’s manual before installation and keep it with your purchase record.
