Mini Elite Pump Canyon
Protect your waterfall pump while keeping it accessible for maintenance. Our Mini Elite Pump Canyon is a compact, one-piece molded pump vault designed for the underground reservoir of a pond-less waterfall. Its reinforced, multi-sided body is designed to resist pressure from surrounding rock, while slotted sides allow reservoir water to enter the pump chamber.
With a removable access lid, a connection for 1.5-inch flex hose, and a maximum pump flow rating of 2,500 GPH, the Mini model is designed for smaller pond-less waterfall installations.
The one-piece molded body helps protect the pump inside a rock-covered reservoir. Vertical slots let water enter the chamber from the surrounding basin, while the removable lid provides access for inspection and servicing.
Positioned at the lower end of a waterfall or stream, the Pump Canyon works with a lined reservoir and water-storage matrix. The pump sends water back to the upper spillway to maintain continuous circulation.

The Mini Pump Canyon houses and protects the pump; it does not replace the full underground reservoir. We recommend using it with properly sized Basin Matrix water-storage boxes and the appropriate liner, pump, and waterfall components.
Choose a Pump Canyon based on your pump's rated flow, physical size, plumbing requirements, and planned reservoir depth. Each model has its own maximum flow rating and installation footprint.
Explore the Small Elite Pump Canyon for systems rated up to 7,500 GPH or the Large Elite Pump Canyon for systems rated up to 20,000 GPH. Maximum flow capacity is not a substitute for verifying the pump's actual dimensions and plumbing fit.
Our Mini Pump Canyon is installed within a lined underground reservoir at the bottom of a pond-less waterfall or stream. These steps provide an overview; follow the applicable installation guide for your exact configuration.
Determine the Pump Canyon location, reservoir volume, Basin Matrix layout, and waterfall route. Our installation guide specifies a 19-inch excavation depth for the Mini Pump Canyon.
Excavate the basin, remove sharp objects, and install protective underlayment and rubber liner. Position the Pump Canyon and Basin Matrix boxes to support the planned reservoir layout.
Place a compatible submersible pump in the canyon, connect the discharge plumbing and 1.5-inch flex hose, and route the hose to the upper waterfall spillway. Keep the lid accessible for future service.
Complete the reservoir and rockwork, fill to the appropriate operating level, and start the waterfall. Check flow, connections, water level, and return circulation before finishing the surrounding landscape.
Use appropriately sized Basin Matrix boxes to create the underground water-storage area surrounding the Pump Canyon. The canyon's 7-gallon capacity is not the total capacity of a completed reservoir.
The Mini model accepts 1.5-inch flex hose. View our 1.5-inch PVC Flex Hose options and confirm all pump discharge fittings before installation.
For a compact combination pump chamber and water-storage component, compare our Canyon Matrix before selecting the best arrangement for your waterfall project.
Periodically open the access lid and inspect the pump, chamber, connections, and water-entry slots for accumulated debris. Monitor reservoir water levels and replace water lost to evaporation or splash-out. Low water levels can damage the pump.
For seasonal shutdown, follow the pump manufacturer's instructions and our pond-less waterfall maintenance guide. Our guidance recommends removing and cleaning the pump and check valve assembly, storing the pump submerged in water in a frost-free location where applicable, and leaving the underground reservoir at least half full during winter to help avoid ground movement.
Our Sales and Technical Team can help you evaluate pump fit, reservoir requirements, hose connections, and the right Pump Canyon size before you order.
No. This listing is for the Pump Canyon vault assembly. The submersible pump, plumbing, reservoir components, and waterfall spillway are purchased separately.
No. The published maximum pump flow rating for the Mini Pump Canyon is 2,500 GPH. For higher-flow systems, consider our Small or Large Elite Pump Canyon and verify physical pump fit as well as flow capacity.
No. Seven gallons is the published capacity of the Mini Pump Canyon itself. A complete pond-less waterfall requires a properly sized water reservoir to accommodate operating water volume and water returning when the pump shuts off.
This model is specifically designed as a protected pump chamber for pond-less waterfall reservoirs. For a traditional pond, select the pump housing or filtration arrangement appropriate to that pond's design.
Possibly. Waterfall length, height, desired spillway flow, pump performance, and reservoir storage all affect system selection. The Mini model's 2,500 GPH limit is only one part of choosing the correct setup.
Our lifetime manufacturer's plastics warranty covers qualifying manufacturing defects in Blue Thumb-branded engineered plastic Pump Canyons for the original purchaser. Proper installation and the published warranty conditions apply. Pumps and separately purchased components have their own warranty terms.
